When I started this blog, I signed up for Google Analytics and started tracking the traffic to Otherwordly, just out of curiosity. So now I have about seven months’ worth of statistics about how many people are visiting, where they’re visiting from, what they’re looking at, stuff like that.
And those stats kind of made my day, because they show that the love of words is all over the world. New York, Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Toronto, Paris, Manila, Istanbul, Jakarta, Rome, Stuttgart, Athens, Helsinki, Hong Kong… just some of the cities with the largest numbers of visitors so far.
It’s also because the analytics show the searches people make that lead them to this blog, and some of them are pretty entertaining:
